Lesson 20 (4.12.18) | New Online Guitar Tuner

EXERCISES (Use up & down picking for each)

Walk-Ups - 3 notes per string, skipping a fret between each finger.  1st finger on the first note of each string; 4th finger on the third note of each string.  Go up and down, using your second finger for the middle note on one pass, and your third finger for the middle note on the other pass.

- Keep working on memorization! Play the mp3 posted above before tyring to play through it on your own, paying close attention to how many times you go through the picking pattern for each chord.

- Capo your guitar on the 6th fret and play with the chords below.

- Awesome job! Try to hum along with this one as well!

- Practice your Dsus4! You may also remember that there is a "sus2" chord as well.  In fact, we are playing a Csus2 chord in this song.  As a general rule, if you see a chord that just says "sus" after it, you can assume it is a "sus4" chord.  If you are supposed to play a "sus2" chord, it will be noted as either "sus2" or 2 (e.g. C2, D2, etc).

- Check the lesson recap video for a demonstration on the strumming pattern.
